Patio and outdoor heaters
Patio heaters create radiant heat for use in outdoor situations. Patio heaters work by having a propane burner at the top of a post, which is then covered by a metal shield which radiates the heat downwards.
Patio heaters (dependant on the model), can heat the surrounding area for 20ft by up to 30 degrees with the biggest patio heaters producing over 46,000 BTUs of heat. Patio heaters are fully adjustable with a dial to control heat release.
The more advanced patio heaters have a tilt on the metal shield, this enables focusing of heat without moving the unit.

Outdoor heaters are mainly electric. They are more environmentally friendly than outdoor gas heaters as direct the heat more efficiently. The heaters provide short wave radiant heat which can be felt the moment the unit is switched on. They are smaller units with lower running costs and can often be more suitable for home use.
